Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Journalists who want to switch to a college classroom may find the transition surprising. They will give up deadline pressure, downsizing and those multimedia challenges for … deadline pressure, downsizing and those multimedia challenges. Those who pursue tenure will discover the challenging world of academic research. Then there are those endless faculty meetings.

But it can be worth it. Molding promising young folks, writing books or producing documentaries, and looking at the journalism world in a fresh light can be rewarding. There’s nothing like teaching, too, to teach you your own craft. Then there are those summers off.

We’ll explore the ups and downs of academic life. Folks who made the move will swap war stories and winning techniques, sharing tips on how to inspuire students to become great business journalists. Mary Jane Pardue presenter.
